Sammie Smith

My name is Sammie Smith. Sports have been a part of my life for many years, from youth, collegiate, and professional, the impact that coaches, teammates, chaplains and many others have had on my life is immeasurable. I, along with my wife, Shalonda, have served others through the Ministry of FCA for 11 years, from being on FCA staff in Central Florida from 2012-2016, to currently serving coaches, athletes, and the community of The University of Mississippi / Ole Miss for the last 7 years.

Over the last year we have felt the call from God to move into another area of Ministry where the harvest is plentiful, but there’s a huge need for passionate servants with the desire to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. To present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the Church. FCA Outdoors offers us the opportunity to engage, equip and empower coaches, student athletes and communities for Christ. There’s also a great opportunity to mobilize volunteers and mentors, to reach youth that otherwise would most likely never have the opportunity to gain interest in positive outdoor activities because of their environments and socioeconomic status's. FCA Outdoors will allow us to create camps, events, competitions, that opens the door to share the Gospel, bringing the Good news of Jesus Christ front and center.

My family and I are so excited to transition back to Central Florida this summer with a fresh anointing to impact lives across Florida and the US, through the FCA Outdoors Ministry. Please consider becoming our Ministry partner, as we faithfully answer this call and season of our Journey.
